The keys can be collected from the locksmith at no charge on the first day of the agreement term, Monday–Friday 8 am–4 pm.
If the keys are collected during on-call hours (Monday–Friday 4–9 pm or Saturday–Sunday 10 am–2 pm), a fee of 141.36 euros is charged. The collection of keys during on-call hours must be agreed in advance with the locksmith.
If the change of month falls on a weekend, a national holiday, or the eve of a national holiday, the locksmith’s service is provided free of charge on the first and the last day of the month between 10 am and 2 pm.
The customer must confirm his or her identity when picking up the keys. If a person other than the tenant picks up the keys, that person must present a proxy form.
Housing inspection
To make sure everything is in order in your new home, we’ve checked the walls and floors, the condition and connections of the plumbing fixtures and toilet seat, the ventilation valves, electrical boxes and smoke detectors, among other things, before you move in.
When you move in, it’s a good idea to check the general condition of your home. If you notice any deficiencies, please contact our customer service.
How to submit a removal notification
Remember to report your new address details to the Digital and Population Information Services Agency and the Posti postal service, either by filling in a notification form or electronically.
Mover’s checklist
There are a lot of things to keep in mind when moving. We’ve put together a checklist to help you on your moving journey.
- Start preparing your move well in advance. It’s not a good idea to carry unnecessary clothes or belongings into your new home, so now is a good time to sorting and recycling anything you don’t need.
- Remember to submit a notification of change of address.
- Get sturdy and stackable boxes, as they make packing easier. You’ll also need bin liners or other large bags for things like pillows and blankets, and cushions for dishes.
- Start packing the things you don’t actively need in your daily life. Remember to clear out your storage space too.
- When the box fills up, mark on the side what’s in the box and which room in the new home the items are going to. This will speed up the unpacking process.
- Book a moving truck and helpers for the move.
- Remember you have to clean your apartment when you move. For example, it is a good idea to wash the sauna and oven beforehand, and wipe down empty cupboards. The final cleaning is done in an empty apartment.
- You’ll need energy on moving day. Make sure you have enough food and drink for everyone involved in the move.
- Remember to return your keys.
- Enjoy your new home!
Choosing an electricity contract
Sign an electricity contract well in advance of your move to ensure that electricity is available in your home and that your customer details are correct. Late notification may result in extra costs for you. Remember to cancel the electricity contract for your old home too.
Parking spaces and sauna reservations
Reserving a parking space
You can reserve a parking space by contacting our customer service. If there are no spaces available, you will be assigned a queue spot.
Reserve a weekly time slot for the communal sauna
In Finland, perfect relaxation means enjoying the sauna! You can book your own weekly timeslot by contacting our customer service.
Booking a sauna in the student houses
In our student residences, the sauna shift is booked via Extranet for all student residences except Vapaudenkatu, Kivikatu, Svinhufvudinkatu and Laatikkotehtaankatu.

Sauna, water, parking and other usage fees are paid on the same transfer form as the rent. If you have not already entered them on the transfer form, please add them yourself. Otherwise, the additional charges will be charged afterwards as a one-off charge.
